  KANSAS CITY, Mo., Oct. 30 - John D. Schwitzgebel, 45, son of a local banker, who shot himself presumably because of reverses in the stock market crash, still was in a critical condition Wednesday.
  
  Schwitzgebel was found lying across a bed in his room at the Kansas City club, the financial page of a newspaper nearby. There were two bullet wounds just above his heart.
  
  "Tell the boys I can't pay them what I owe," he whispered as he was taken to a hospital.
